We provided a valuation analysis of a U.S. engineering services company to assist the advisor and his client, the Japanese company, with considerations for a potential acquisition.

We prepared valuation scenarios associated with the singer's wine brand to assist the client with evaluating several strategic options associated with the brand.

We provided consulting to assist management with negotiations associated with the planned buyout of a partner’s ownership in a popular neighborhood bar and restaurant. Our analysis included valuations related to multiple elements of the subject business pursuant to provisions in a buy-sell agreement, including the operation’s overall business enterprise and certain intangible assets. 


Risk analytics firm

We provided consulting to the company’s owner and a potential investor to assist with negotiations related to the sale of an equity interest in the business. 


Privately held, family winery based in Sonoma County

 We completed a valuation analysis to assist with a management buyout of the company. 


Private company specializing in management training and performance enhancement

 We assisted the client with valuation analyses for negotiations with a potential acquirer (an international publicly traded company). Clairent was asked to assist target management after it received a low, initial offer from the acquirer. Within 24 hours of presenting Clairent’s valuation models and value proposition to the acquirer (which included an emphasis on the value of certain IP developed by the client), the initial offer for the client’s business was tripled. 


Privately held manufacturer of commercial building accessories and products

We valued two promissory notes to assist management with planning associated with a potential sale of the notes. 


Provider of event marketing strategies, meetings management, and event production

We valued the company and a minority interest as part of planning and negotiations related to the buy-out of the minority interest shareholder.

We assisted with valuing the subject trade name to assist the client with negotiations with a potential buyer.

We assisted with a valuation of the company and a minority interest as part of negotiations related to the buy-out of the minority interest shareholder. 


Publicly traded semiconductor equipment manufacturing company

We provided consulting to assisted the client with monetizing non-core technology and IP. We prepared detailed analyses of various value scenarios related to the subject IP by major market and application, as well as evaluating several strategic options, including the direct sale of the IP or a joint venture. The client ultimately ended up selling the subject IP for a purchase price which was in the range of the valuation scenarios prepared.
